OVERVIEW

Joseph was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong SAR in 2022. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong.

 

Joseph has extensive experience across contentious and non-contentious matters, including insolvency matters, investment-related arbitrations, building management disputes, drafting of commercial agreements, employment law, personal data privacy, private facility arrangements, and will and probate.

 WORK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Advising and acting for a Chinese corporation in opposing a winding up petition

  • Advising and acting for a financial institution in seeking an order substituting for the original petitioner in a winding up proceedings against a Hong Kong listed company

  • Advising and acting for private clients in handling investment-related arbitrations under the HKIAC Rules

  • Advising and acting for property investors in handling conveyancing disputes, compulsory sale for redevelopment, trespass and building management issues

  • Advising and acting for a security firm who had ceased operation in handling unclaimed trust assets

  • Appearing as the sole advocate in various substantive hearing, including resisting an appeal against an interlocutory order, seeking order for specific discovery, and opposing a claim for wrongful distress on behalf of a landlord
