CHRISTINE CHENG

OVERVIEW

Christine was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 2022.  She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2018 and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the same establishment in 2019.

 

Christine has experience in handling a wide range of contentious matters, including debt recovery, insolvency matters, employment disputes and cross-border enforcement.  She also has experience in handling non-contentious wills and probate matters, tenancy matters and preparation of commercial agreements.

Work Highlights
  • Acting for the liquidators of a company in making disclosure application against parties relevant to the company under section 286B of the Companies Winding-Up Ordinance (Cap.32) and applying for court sanction to commence an action in the name of the company.

  • Acting for a former independent non-executive director of a listed company in defending a claim for breach of fiduciary duties and unlawful means conspiracy.

  • Acting for a bank in obtaining Mareva injunction against a debtor.

  • Acting for a bank in resisting a debtor’s application to set aside a statutory demand and resisting the debtor’s subsequent appeals.

  • Acting for banks in debt recovery actions, mortgage actions, bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings.
